Thank you for visiting our website. We’re adding content and developing the layout at the moment so please bear with us!

You’ll find our most recent news, details of forthcoming events and other time-related information below.

This morning Colin, Joanne and Patrick scaled the front of the church to put up our Alpha banner. It is well secured and hopefully will survive any gales which come our way over the next few months! If you are interested in coming along on Weds 1st Feb at 7.30pm please visit Alpha Course for more information. Everyone is welcome.

January 2012

We hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year!

2012 is set to be an exciting year for the Church On The Hill with a number of new events in our calendar and the resumption of existing and popular activities and groups.

Girls’ Brigade and Boys’ Brigade start again this month – GB on a Monday evening and BB on a Wednesday. If you have children from age 3 upwards why not bring them along for an evening to find out what it is all about. Sylvia and Colin and their teams run a thriving youth programme in Church On The Hill and the boys and girls numbers in GB and BB have grown considerably over recent years.

Bowling – if you like a bit of craic and think you could chuck a wooden ball up a mat at another wooden ball why not come along on a Monday afternoon at 2pm for a game of bowls and tea and biscuits (£1). There is also a free bookswap club for the less athletically inclined.

If you are a more serious bowler Tuesday evenings at 8pm might be more your line. Our bowling club is well attended and there is still plenty of fun to be had at it too.

Wednesday evening is badminton club at 7.30pm and again you will receive a warm welcome if you would like to come along for a game.

On a spiritual note we have a prayer meeting every Monday evening at 7.30pm for half an hour. Please come along and enjoy some peaceful reflective time and support the prayer mission at COTH.

Monday evening also sees the resumption of our Bible class. On a fortnightly basis at 8pm Rev Carlton Baxter leads us through the scriptures with insightful interpretation of God’s word and how it applies to us in the modern day. Topics this month include: pornography and Heaven and Hell.

Cameo women’s group are having their annual dinner at Clenaghan’s on Tuesday 31st January at 7.00pm and not to be outdone the Men’s fellowship group will be meeting on Sunday 30th January at 9.00am in the church hall (not sure what the food is lads but I’m sure Colin Montgomery won’t let us down!). All are welcome.

The first of February sees the start of our Alpha Course at Church On The Hill. We are all mega-excited about this as it is our first Alpha course and we can’t wait to see how people receive it. The Alpha course has been hugely popular with over 17 million people worldwide having attending one. To find out more visit our page www.thechurchonthehill.org.uk/alpha where we will be adding content and videos throughout the next few weeks.

Hope to see you along some Sunday too – 10.30am service which includes kids’ church and creche!
